Additional Docs Requirements for the Student Direct Stream (SDS)

  • The Student Direct Stream (SDS) is a faster processing option for study permit applications from selected countries. To be eligible for the SDS, you must meet the general eligibility requirements for a study permit, as well as the following additional requirements:
  • You must have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10,000 CAD from a participating Canadian financial institution.
  • To apply for a study permit, you need an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution (DLI). A DLI is a school approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students. All primary and secondary schools in Canada are designated learning institutions.

Many countries allow international students to work part-time while studying, typically up to a certain number of hours per week during the academic term and full-time during scheduled breaks. However, the specific work rights granted may vary depending on the country and type of visa. Our team can provide you with information on work rights and opportunities available to students in your chosen destination.

Most countries require international students to demonstrate sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and other costs associated with studying abroad. This may involve providing bank statements, scholarship letters, or affidavits of financial support as evidence of your ability to support yourself during your stay. Our team will help you understand the financial requirements and assist you in preparing the necessary documentation.

Our team can advise you on the health insurance options available in your destination country and help you obtain the required coverage.
